Welcome to Be With God. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of bewithgod.app and related experiences that present this contemplative prayer guide (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The nature of the Service
Be With God is a quiet, educational/contemplative tool introducing and supporting the practice of centering prayer. It is offered as a personal spiritual aid and is not a substitute for pastoral care, professional counseling, medical or mental-health care, or crisis support.
If you are in distress or danger, please contact local emergency services or a crisis helpline in your area. The Service does not provide emergency monitoring.
Eligibility and personal use
You may use the Service if you can form a binding contract under applicable law. The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Your content and the sacred word
If you enter a sacred word or other text, you are responsible for it. We design the Service so that the sacred word remains on your device and is not sent to our servers or analytics. Do not enter information you are not comfortable storing on your own device.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Misuse the Service in a way that harms, overloads, or disrupts it (including abusing the presence/count systems);
- Attempt unauthorized access to systems, data, or other users’ devices;
- Use the Service to violate law or others’ rights;
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or redistribute the Service’s software or content except as allowed by law or with our permission;
- Impersonate the Service or remove proprietary notices.
Intellectual property
The Service—including text, design, visual atmosphere, layout, logos, and software—is owned by the Service operator or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Scripture quotations and public-domain or third-party materials remain subject to their respective rights and citations.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal contemplative practice as provided. No other rights are granted.
Audio and device behavior
The Service may play chimes, gentle tones, or near-silent audio intended to support timing and device audio sessions (including when a screen is locked). Device behavior varies by browser and operating system; we do not guarantee that bells will sound in every background or power-saving scenario.
Use headphones and volume reasonably, and respect those around you—especially in shared or sacred spaces.
Third-party services
The Service may depend on third-party infrastructure (for example hosting, databases used for anonymous presence counts, analytics, and font delivery). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that results (spiritual, emotional, or otherwise) will meet your expectations.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE OPERATOR AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (IF ANY) OR (B) TWENTY-FIVE U.S. DOLLARS (US$25).
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted.
Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold harmless the Service operator and its contributors from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
Changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or these Terms) at any time. When we update these Terms, we will revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Texas, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable consumer law in your place of residence requires otherwise. Courts in Texas shall have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes, except where prohibited.

Our Privacy Policy describes how information is handled. It is part of how you understand the Service; these Terms and that policy should be read together.
